Khazna presents UAE’s First AI-Optimized Data Centre

Abu Dhabi: Khazna Data Centers has broken ground on its pioneering QAJ1 facility in Ajman, billed as the region’s first AI-optimized data centre, while also launching two new sites—AUH4 in Mafraq and AUH8 in Masdar City—to broaden its UAE presence

On April 22, 2025, the company announced that QAJ1 will deliver 100 MW of compute capacity specifically geared toward high-performance AI workloads, featuring advanced liquid-cooling systems and AI-driven energy management tools to ensure efficiency and reliability

The two Abu Dhabi facilities will add a combined 60 MW of cloud hosting capacity, using modular design architecture for faster construction and adiabatic free-cooling technology to set new benchmarks for Power Usage Effectiveness in the region

These three LEED Gold-certified centres are scheduled for completion between August and December 2026, with QAJ1’s first phase also slated for December 2026. Khazna’s CEO, Hassan Alnaqbi, highlighted that this expansion responds to “unprecedented capacity demand for AI-optimized infrastructure” as UAE industries increasingly embed AI in critical processes

The launch aligns with the UAE’s broader digital transformation goals, as the data centre market in the country is projected to reach AED 9.7 billion by 2029 at a 10 percent CAGR. By delivering purpose‑built AI and cloud infrastructure, Khazna aims to support the nation’s ambition to become a leading hub for digital innovation and AI development.
